Well, as far as I can see, no branding guidelines have been published yet. This site's footer says something like PerlMonks somehow became entangled with The Perl Foundation or PerlMonks is a proud member of the The Perl Foundation but I don't know what that actually means beyond "it's being linked to from perl.org's Community site". Are there any other connections, like funding, which might make TPF believe they could require a style change? In their working document there's a note that PerlMonks "pushed back" when talking about consistent sites. Maybe we should find out which monks did the pushing, and why? After all, changing a website layout causes some effort for which some volunteers need to find time for. There is a chance that those volunteers just fail to turn up, and it is also likely that any change causes criticism by some who like this site's 20th century style. So I'd just wait and see whether and when a branding guideline appears, what support TPF is going to provide, and what the consequences would be if PerlMonks continue to push back. As a user of this site, I actually couldn't care less.
