in thread executing perl command from a perl file

See qx, exec doesn't return.

Sorry, but I don't think this is good advice. Even if it were necessary to run an external perl, which it practically never is except maybe in a test suite, qx has quite a few caveats.

    True, but I doubt the OP will read a longer answer. ;)

    PS: but thanks for the interesting link :)
      The answers are here to stay. Anyone else can google a similar question and find your answer valuable. You're never answering just the OP.

      With that in mind, many long winded threads wouldn't have been started.

      map{substr$_->[0],$_->[1]||0,1}[\*||{},3],[[]],[ref qr-1,-,-1],[{}],[sub{}^*ARGV,3]
        I think people will rather read a long winded dialog than a long post.

        The reply was from perldoc, probably you should rather invest in improving them? :)

        I don't see the point in reproducing the best posts again and again, you should rather use your influence to make run3 into core.

      True, but I doubt the OP will read a longer answer.

      If that's the case, I'd still prefer that what gets cargo-culted at least contains some best practices ;-P
