Preferred Default Page

Normally, when the site redirects you to a 'default' page, it is The Monastery Gates.
If you'd rather have it go to a different page, visit your User Settings and enter the node ID in the 'Preferred Default Page' field.

Currently, this is only respected in the Login page.
The plan is to have it respected in other places as well.

Update: The new default page redirects you to your configured preferred default page, in case you find that useful.

Replies are listed 'Best First'.

    Hello and thanks jdporter,

maybe I missed the sense of your last sentence.. but I tried to put Newest Nodes as preferred default page but it seems I'm always redirected to Monastery Gate.

Did you try the ID 3628 and re-logged in again?

      Edit

Probably some kind of form evaluation /\d*/ wouldn't be bad.

And adding the word "ID" to the label.

Ok I tried to re Login and I'm shown a bunch of popular targets.

Hey. Glad you're back. Would you like to go to your home node, to The Monastery Gates, to Newest Nodes, to Recently Active Threads, to XXX or back to Login? Or perhaps you want to ask a Perl question?

Here the last-2 option is the page I've configured in settings.

I agree that's not what I thought it does.

But it doesn't bother me either. :)

        Cheers Rolf
