I agree with you in Re^3: "my" cost, but nevertheless it reminds me of Admiral Grace Hopper explaining Nanoseconds and Microseconds in 1983 ;-)

So we're clear, the point I was making is that even if one is desperate about speed, this is not the change one should make, because one could save seconds by doing other changes instead.
