in reply to Reaped nodes no longer visible?

Hmm, no change announced in Tidings

Show Reaped Nodes User Setting now affects section listings Apr 26, 2007 at 02:34 UTC The "Show Reaped Nodes" Newest Nodes Setting now affects other sec +tion listings besides Newest Nodes and Recently Active Threads. Also, + reaped nodes cannot be viewed anymore by Anonymous Monk (and thus, s +earch engine crawlers).

I think it maybe showed the the actual contents and not merely a link, a long long time ago, before 2007, but I can't be sure my memory is fuzzy (I haven't had an account in a long time).

Naturally its hard to actually search PMD for discussions of reaped nodes (by title) because you can't exclude reaped nodes from the search .... or by content, ick, ?node_id=3989;HIT=reaped;re=N;D

Hmm, ?node_id=3989;a=SiteDocClan;nf=0;BIT=reape;submit=Search

Como eu altero minhas preferências?: Show reaped nodes (in Newest Nodes): Exiba nós removidos (no Novos Nós) Nós removidos não aparecerão na secção Novos Nós a não ser que esta opção esteja ligada.

About the Newest Nodes view: You can opt to see or not see reaped nodes in the Newest Nodes listing.

Newest Nodes Settings Show reaped nodes: Normally, Newest Nodes will not display nodes which have been reaped. If you prefer, you can have reaped nodes included in the listing. There are separate controls for root nodes and reply (i.e. non-root) nodes.

Well, I tried this, if you go to Re^3: How to optimise " csv into mysql " using TEXT:CSV_XS and DBD::Mysql it doesn't show the see reaped node link, turn the setting on in Newest Nodes Settings and visit Re^3: How to optimise " csv into mysql " using TEXT:CSV_XS and DBD::Mysql and it does show the view/reaped link

Replies are listed 'Best First'.

I wonder how those settings got changed?

It's not your settings that got changed. I changed the behavior of the site. Tidings updated. Thanks, beech!

I reckon we are the only monastery ever to have a dungeon stuffed with 16,000 zombies.
