in reply to HTML::TreeBuilder scan for first table

Try another module like HTML::TableExtract?

use strict; use warnings; use Data::Dumper; use HTML::TableExtract; my $te = HTML::TableExtract->new( decode => 0 ); $te->parse( do{ local $/; <DATA> } ); my ($first) = $te->tables; print Dumper (($first->rows)[0]); __DATA__ *insert your HTML here*
