Modifying .hwp (Hangul Word Processor) files without conversion

Phenomanan has asked for the wisdom of the Perl Monks concerning the following question:

I have been trying to do search & replace in different file types, and am running into trouble with .hwp files. I cannot use a converter, because it is too big to incorporate in our project. This is particularly sad because I was easily able to modify .hwp when I converted it to .odt, but that is out of the question now. How does one go about searching and replacing in an .hwp file in PERL?

I looked through the Wikipedia page (including references), and I don't see anything about the binary format specification. I can't seem to find it on Google either... hope I'm not just blind. Maybe I should try Korean Google. Do you have a link to where I can get this information? I'd appreciate it. Edit: Crap it's the one in Korean isn't it. Damn, guess I'll have to google translate it or hopefully find it in English.
Sorry, I do not know more than what is in the Wikipedia page I linked to. I looked at it because I did not even know what Hangul was, nor the the HWP format. Presumably, the specification in on this page: http://www.hancom.co.kr/userofficedata.userofficedataList.do?menuFlag=3, or linked to within this page, but I do not know Korean at all, so I can't help you further.

Edit: Your Mother provided the link while I was fighting with my computer and Internet connection over mobile network, so (s)he was the first to provide the link I have above.
