    Looks a bit too aggressive for me, I don't want Emacs to block while I type.

      I usually turn it on explicitly rather than globally enabled (I previously left on but found my aggressive-indent-excluded-modes growing...) Curious about it blocking though, unless there's a lot of backtracking in Emacs' state going on...

        hmm looked into the source, and there is no mention of Perl excludes rules for aggressive-indent-dont-indent-if .

        The git-hub page mentions conflicts with other modes like evil and - unsurprisingly - someone complained his POD is destroyed.

        This can't happen with my approach, though updating aggressive-indent-dont-indent-if with some rules using cperl-mode semantic knowledge might solve this...
