FWIW https://code.activestate.com/ppm/Alien-wxWidgets/ list binaries for 5.22 ... ought to be compatible with strawberryperl 5.22

I'll try one of the binaries and thanks.

    An update:

I have another laptop that has ActivePerl on it and so I installed wxWidgets with PPM and it works (BTW, an amazingly easy installation). However, I installed wxGlade, but it didn't work. It seems there are two versions of Python installed and the wxGlade installation seemed to select one, while wxWidgets selected the other.

The important part is that wxWidgets worked for the examples I ran, so it seems to be OK.

In any event, I'll try some of the suggestions to try and get the Strawberry Perl version working.

    Thanks,

These ActiveState binaries are all pay-to-play and I don't have an account (nor do I want one).

    Thanks anyway...

Final update: I'm giving up on using wxGlade/wxWidgets, it's more complex than needed.

I decided to adapt something I used over 12 years ago -- localhost server to simulate forms posting.

The localhost scheme means eForms are created using a browser and the capturing of data, using Perl, is short. However, I'm having problems getting it to work the way I want and to work reliably, but I'll ask questions under a more appropriate title.

In any event, I thank everyone for the help. As I've said many times, one of the strengths of Perl, is that it has an active and knowledgeable group of followers who are always eager to extend a helping hand. Thanks!

      Thanks,
