in thread Perl OOP

When was the last time anywhere you found someone confused about the two?
How about Do i need really to update perl 5 to perl 6? or Should I learn perl 5 in 2015?

That confusion is part of the reason so many people argue that Perl6 is misnamed i.e. the confusion is quite real.

There's even a Frequently Asked Question: Why is Perl 6 called Perl?

You just need to stop thinking about Perl 5 and Perl 6 as being like versions, and start thinking of them as being like sequels.

When Star Trek 6 came out, it didn't mean everybody was supposed to stop watching Star Trek 5.

Most people outside the Perl community won't do that though (and it contradicts the intuition of how software versioning works).

As for Star Trek 5, I remember being utterly disappointed by it as were many others. So yes everybody should stop watching it :)
