in thread Feature: Auto hide. Change: show node vote counts to all, not just logged in users.

I'm talking about actual rep. So a node with 40 upvotes and 10 downvotes has a rep of +30.

I reckon we are the only monastery ever to have a dungeon stuffed with 16,000 zombies.

    ++ Better still.

      This would make a great project for a new pmdevil. Who will step up? ;-)

        In fact, I felt the pressure while discussing this topic. :|

        Is it too late to say I don't know any Perl? :P

    One still needs a ratio or somehow more elaborate heuristic.

    A disputed post with +15 -20 is very different from +0 -5

      Maybe. We could add a requirement for a minimum number of total votes as well. But that's why I think we could just make the threshold be "very low": A post with a total rep of -20 is clearly "excessively bad" in the view of a critical mass of voters. And remember that this is only for hiding the post; it does not delete it; so we don't have to worry too much about being too aggressive.

      Another point which should be made explicitly, is that this "hidden"ness is dynamically determined. A post could float in and out of that state as the voting goes on. Also, the threshold parameter can easily be tweaked to try to make it more optimal.

      I reckon we are the only monastery ever to have a dungeon stuffed with 16,000 zombies.
      What about overrides? Say a pope janitori does a ++ and and then the -40 reputation sum is irrelevant for hiding?
