Oh my. Although it was a mole of moles, he did it too close to Earth. Had it been far, far away, it would have been a mole of moles in the outer space of outer space.

Interesting how many different aspects of a mole exist - the Wikipedia disambiguation page lists over 15 - plus the geographical areas and people called Mole ... . My first thought when reading the poll was the pier.

An old friend of mine. We nicknamed him because he has terrible eyesight, a general hatred of direct sunlight, he's mostly a night person (nocturnal), and happens to love going cave spelunking... Admittedly most of those things are misconceptions about moles as animals, but nicknames like that tend to stick anyway. :-)

Just another Perl hooker - My clients appreciate that I keep my code clean but my comments dirty.

    OTHER.

One of my co-workers was named Amol.

From the fortress of the moles, no escape there is.

I immediately thought about George Smiley, John Le Carré's spymaster.

Like Ratazong, I thought of a pier structure, though more in terms of a harbour defence or breakwater.

One of my favourite science-type cartoons shows a mole in a phone booth calling .. Avogadro's number. (Rimshot)

I also think about skin moles -- two friends have had them, and were able to get medical help for their treatment. A little scary.

Thanks PJ. We owe you so much. Groklaw -- RIP -- 2003 to 2013.

Update: Ugh .. forgot the word 'booth'. Better after a nap.
Update2: Sorry .. used square brackets for my 'Rimshot' .. which of course turns it into a link. Not intended. My fault for posting hastily. Argh. Fixed.

A spy, but not just any spy: Karla, the protagonist in Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy.

It's a shame we can't A/B test this and put the first choice at the bottom.

Is this what you are referring to? A/B test Just curious....

...the majority is always wrong, and always the last to know about it...

A solution is nothing more than a clearly stated problem...
