Pearl (Practical Extraction And Report Language) was the original name of Perl. Maybe Perl6 should be named: Pearl

Perl is Perl and not Pearl in part because there was a language named Pearl even when Larry wrote the first version. Jenda Enoch was right! Enjoy the last years of Rome.	[reply]

I tried to find a link and when that failed assumed the PEARL language did not pan out. Oh well... Cool name: "Process and Experiment Automation Realtime Language" but the code in that PDF is mind-numbing. Thank you.	[reply]
