Opening a sizeable window with a

raestane has asked for the wisdom of the Perl Monks concerning the following question:

I've got a form that I would like to "POST" using a .pl script that I use to parse the info and return an error or return valid.

My question is this: Is there a way that I can tell either the HTML or the PERL script to size the window and manipulate some of the windows settings..ie, menu=no, width=500, length=500... ??

Also, I'd love to be able to stay away from Javascript if that's possible, as not everyone has that option.

Could this question be answered elsewhere, if so, where?

TIA

    Okay, in short no. Not without JavaScript. I'm sorry but that is the only path of which you can follow, unless my experience treats me wrong.
    So, try this in you form:
    <script> <!-- function openNew() { new=window.open("","new","width=500, height=500, menubar=0"); } //--> </script> <form target="new" action="youdomain.com/cgi-bin/script.cgi" method="p +ost" onSubmit="openNew()"> ... </form>

    P.S. if they don't have JavaScript support there is no reason to consider being able to do such an activity to their window.

    No. Well unless the user happens to be running IE, and they happen to have ActiveState Perl installed and they happen to have installed ActiveX component which the really oughtn't have done. And even then I'm not sure it could be done. So no, no way to do this with Perl. --
