I'm not really sure, but I think soon I'll start working on a hangman game. I know others have done it, but I think it'll be a good exercise.

Random Bit of Newbie Wisdom

Do not start learning perl with "The Perl and CGI for the World Wide Web" Visual Quickstart Guide as I did. It is misleading to the newbie reader. It shuns the CGI.pm module, and it really isn't as helpful as it could be. I strongly suggest you do not buy this if you are an absolute beginner, because this book focuses more on formatting CGI with perl rather than running perl from the command line. It says this at the beginning of the book, but I wasn't aware that perl could actually be installed on a system. I thought it was only for the internet. A newbie wanting to learn perl will be confused when he/she comes to a site like this after reading the VQS Guide.
