Perhaps you look for something like reset

reset deletes symbols starting with a specific letter. tr-like ranges can be used.

reset $foo is similar (but not at all equal) to 

for (grep /^[$foo]/, keys %::) {
    undef @$_;
    undef %$_;
    undef $$_;
}
