Hmm, grew up in Ledyard, CT.
Spent 4 years in the Air Force, 1976 to 1980, then
went to school and received my b.s. in Electrical Engineering.
Spent entirely too much time on the road for several years, until I picked up some C and got my first programming job, and I haven't looked back since.
Started off with DOS, then Windows, (then moved to Florida where it is almost always warm and sunny) and lately I've been delving into Unix and now Linux.
I've been using Perl as much as I possibly can at work, and it is great! I use it to control the conversion of a great number of Word Perfect documents to PDF, with an index, so our customers can access our system documentation online.
