truncate FILEHANDLE,LENGTH
truncate EXPR,LENGTH
Truncates the file opened on FILEHANDLE, or named by EXPR, to
the specified length. Produces a fatal error if truncate isn't
implemented on your system. Returns true if successful, the
undefined value otherwise.
