I'm a full time Java programmer, but I look for every opportunity to use Perl. (Speaking of Java, if you know Java or are interested in learning more about it, please visit Java Junkies and lend your expertise, ask questions, or contribute in some other way.)
Things I love (in no particular order)
- Perl (no surprises there)
- Drawing and painting - I've started an art business:
www.artworkbytaylor.com I mostly do
portraits in pencil (like my photo above), but lately I've been doing more painting
with watercolor and acrylics. Studying airbrush techniques and may start with that, as well. I also design logos, tattoos, etc.
I use Perl on my site to handle contact/feedback messages from visitors, image
uploads for price quotes, and mailing list subscription requests. I'd be happy to
give a significant discount to anymonk who mentions Perl Monks. :)
- My MacPro, especially now that I can use it
to hack Perl much more conveniently. (The fact that OS X comes with gcc, Apache, PHP,
and tons of other stuff is great too.)
- Tweaking my 2001 Corvette Z06.
- Comic Books - I have pretty nice collections of Uncanny X-Men, The Darkness, and Witchblade. I have a nicer Wolverine collection (issues 1-146 and a few after that).
- ebay - Be very, very careful. If you've been there, then you know why. :)
- Basketball - My way of blowing off steam and keeping in shape.
- Alpha Phi Alpha - My fraternity. Am I the only
Ice Cold Perl Monk? If not, drop me a line...
