Frontpage Nodelet: Newest Nodes

Would it be possible to create an optional frontpage nodelet that would display the newest nodes? I love cruising the newest nodes to see if I can help out someone, and it would be more convenient to just have a frontpage nodelet specifically for that purpose. Just a suggestion.

Hmm I think it would be possible pretty easy for the pmdev-crew, but I wonder if it's really useful.
I think it would be nice to have "new, yet unanswered questions", in a nodelet but not all new nodes or questions. I would love it for the questioner to have a checkbox "I know now what I wanted to", and then have only those new ones displayed that haven't been answered in a good way yet.
But currently I'm pretty happy with having the newest nodes which I can refresh pretty nicely and set my "stamp" etc...

Personally, I haven't been to the front page in ages, or for that matter, to the respective section front pages (like Meditations, Seekers of Perl Wisdom etc). I have a bookmark to my Message Inbox (because it loads quickly), and then just go to Newest Nodes straight from there.

    Makeshifts last the longest.

Actually, scratch that. Make it a "Newest Questions" nodelet to be more precise :E

I suppose it could easily be done. But then, apart from the fact that I doubt its usefulness, I think it would considerably slow down the loading of your frontpage. And that issue has been discussed before, but I can't seem to find it right now.
