in reply to My username is...

This seems a good time to ask, why do most people have all lowercase names? I've been wondering this for some time now ^_^. ~lc(Adam)

      that's because lower case names are, on average, superior to upper case names!

      ah! that's what I did wrong. i knew it was something. still, spelling Ovid with a lower-case 'o' somehow seems disrespectful to the original.

      cheers,

    Good observation... I never noticed people ussually had all lower case. I wish I could answer the questions but I use the shift key when typing my tag.

    I usually for some reason think that a username is case-insensitive. otherwise im very precise about capitals and punctuation ;-)

    All lowercase is very popular in the *nix world and everyone knows all the best perl hackers use *nix ;)

    eval pack "h*", "072796e647022245d445f475454494c5e622b3";

      Most Unixes used to assume that if you used uppercase characters for your username that you were on an uppercase only terminal.

      Checking with Linux, if I use all uppercase for the username it assumes that my terminal is uppercase only. If I start with uppercase then go to lowercase it assumes a mixed case terminal.

      However, it's still a case of why bother with the shift key?

    Because we program in lower case?

    Because commands and files in unix are lower case?

    Because if it was properly Capitalized it would be a proper name, which most usernames are not?
