in thread unshift onto @INC

I think you mean to have a lower-case 'w' there. -W does something in perl 5.6.x I beleive, but not in perl 5.005.

Correct, that is a 5.6 thing. I really wish people here would stick with -w in examples to ensure there is no confusion, since noone seems to comment 'This is for 5.6 and above only' when they do it.

    Cheers,
    KM

perhaps some of these folks are newbies who have only ever used 5.6 and don't know the difference?

p.s. i wasn't referring to Adam in this case, simply addressing KM's assertion that a lot of people seem to make the 5.6 assumption.

That should be a poll, how many people have ONLY used 5.6 :) It may also be (and in some cases has been) from folks who are not newbies. If someone shows -I on the command line, I doubt they are a newbie (from my experience with newbies)

        Cheers,
        KM

      My Apologies.
Since upgrading to 5.6 I have switched from -w to -W and I forgot that -W was new to 5.6. I will try to remember to use -w in future posts.
