Fair enough... It just seemed like a surprisingly strong stance without any mention of the legal issues involved.

The legal implications are my primary concern. Granted, I would frown on a "How to root your friends machine in 12 lines of perl" node, but I'm not very concerned philosophicallly with the border cases like this "nmap in perl" thread.

However, the legal liability of such posts is unfortunately significant, and its for that reason that I would shy away from "harboring crackers" though I wouldn't label this thread as such.

I know you've been through the legal wringer once, and seeing it from a distance makes me want to avoid it all together.
