What do you find appealing about Perl 1?

Perl 1 is the original. The first is always the best. Example: the Men of Middle Earth aren't thought very highly of, unless they are directly descended from the originals, the Neumenor's. All peoples of Middle Earth think that the first Kings were the greatest of all Men. In much the same way, the farther we get from Perl 1, the more diluted the language becomes, and we all know that dilution is bad. That is the basis for my objection to Perl 6.
