Blank nodes

I've noticed a couple of nodes today which have blank titles which means I can't get into them to read them. I've not noticed this happening before and assume it's because people have left the title blank on their submission. Can we have some way of preventing this by not accepting blank titles? If someone can explain how to read these nodes I'd be interested.

I posted a comment abpout this at Requiring Titles?, but no one ever commented on it.

As for reading such nodes, if it is a top-level node, you can click on "(n) replies" in the section page (For example, Perl Monks Discussion). If it isn't a top-level node, you can read it by clicking on a parent node and reading it there.

I think that both titles and the body should be checked to make sure they contain information. It shouldn't be too dificult to check the input before accepting a form.

It is a pain when this happens, though it seems that nodes that have blank titles but contain content are given titles by the moderators (eg More IPC::Open2 stuff was originally untitled). If you want to read these nodes, your best bet is to find out the node ID (by reading the page source from which they are linked to...), and typing the URL directly into your browser (, replacing whatever with your node ID)

Just today, I posted a blank node.
This was not on purpose. I was voting for
a post, but in a flash of d'oh I pressed on
    the "new" button, effectively submitting
    an empty post.

In editors requests, I asked for the possibility
of denying posts if they're empty, I hope vroom will do so.
