Anybody know of some good pre-canned XML tickers out there? Or any that have been Monk-rolled?

I'm not sure if I fully understand your question. I wrote a module called PerlMonksChat.pm which reads the chatterbox and users XML tickers, and several chat clients have been built around it. See my home page for the list.

PerlMonksChat doesn't use the Newest Nodes XML yet, but I'm working on that :-)
