I never really thought of Perl Monks as a 'technical support' site. Having worked a technical support job, I know that many people doing that kind of work hate their job, hate talking to the stupid customers who don't know how to double click, and loathe coming in everyday to deal with the crap. Perl Monks is the antithesis of that atmosphere; members of this community love adding useful (and not so useful) information to the site, enjoy answering all but the most idiotic questions, and frequent the site daily. In my world, to call Perl Monks 'technical support' is nearly an insult. Perl Monks is led by some of the most intelligent people, who are cool enough to throw a bone to others who aspire to their expertise.
