That is odd, I see 'New Questions' followed by the front paged questions, 'New Meditations', then the front paged medidations, and so on for the other secitons. It may be worth while looking at what is displayed on one of the other domains, without logging in. http://www.perlmonks.com or http://www.perlmonks.org (choose the one you're not currently logged into). It could also be a setting burried somewhere in 'User Settings', but I don't recall altering anything relating to the front page, so that may be a red herring.

Posts may use any of the Perl Monks Approved HTML tags. Currently these include the following:
<code> <a> <b> <big>
<blockquote> <br /> <dd>
<dl> <dt> <em> <font>
<h1> <h2> <h3> <h4>
<h5> <h6> <hr /> <i>
<li> <nbsp> <ol> <p>
<small> <strike> <strong>
  <table>
<td> <th> <tr> <tt>
<u> <ul>
-
Snippets of code should be wrapped in
<code> tags not
<pre> tags. In fact, <pre>
tags should generally be avoided. If they must
be used, extreme care should be
taken to ensure that their contents do not
have long lines (<70 chars), in order to prevent
horizontal scrolling (and possible janitor
intervention).
