( [id://3333]=superdoc: print w/replies, xml ) Need Help??

I just stumbled upon this post from last year. Very sad news.

I was on the inaugural Perl Whirl 2000 cruise to Alaska with you and Bill, so I met him then. He was truly the life of the party—a party he manifested himself as he went along. Although some of his many colorful shenanigans are lost to me now in the blur of drunken memories of that wonderful, singular event, his antics are thankfully chronicled in Steve Silberman's October 2000 Wired magazine article titled Scripting on the Lido Deck. Now, the article serves as a nice tribute to his great spirit and to his unique and inimitable contributions to the Perl community.

Wang Wang!

Title:
Use:  <p> text here (a paragraph) </p>
and:  <code> code here </code>
to format your post; it's "PerlMonks-approved HTML":

  • Are you posting in the right place? Check out Where do I post X? to know for sure.
  • Posts may use any of the Perl Monks Approved HTML tags. Currently these include the following:
    <code> <a> <b> <big> <blockquote> <br /> <dd> <dl> <dt> <em> <font> <h1> <h2> <h3> <h4> <h5> <h6> <hr /> <i> <li> <nbsp> <ol> <p> <small> <strike> <strong> <table> <td> <th> <tr> <tt> <u> <ul>
  • Snippets of code should be wrapped in <code> tags not <pre> tags. In fact, <pre> tags should generally be avoided. If they must be used, extreme care should be taken to ensure that their contents do not have long lines (<70 chars), in order to prevent horizontal scrolling (and possible janitor intervention).
  • Want more info? How to link or How to display code and escape characters are good places to start.
