( [id://3333]=superdoc: print w/replies, xml ) Need Help??

If PerlMonks is to be the go-to site for Perl questions, then the technical correctness of the answers must be heavily defended. That should be done politely and professionally, AND the rebuked party should accept correction. You must have both sides of that. Anything else is a farce.

As to the social side, I was told before I joined that "the only answer you'll ever get on PM is 'RTFM, a**h***.'" 3 minutes perusal showed that was not the case, and also revealed that my informant was uninformed. I learned 2 things that day.

I don't like the venom in this thread and I think it reflects poorly on the venomous. But they have greater credibility than you. You might want to consider that if ever those offers to sue become more appealing.

Update: corrected spelling error.

Title:
Use:  <p> text here (a paragraph) </p>
and:  <code> code here </code>
to format your post; it's "PerlMonks-approved HTML":

  • Are you posting in the right place? Check out Where do I post X? to know for sure.
  • Posts may use any of the Perl Monks Approved HTML tags. Currently these include the following:
    <code> <a> <b> <big> <blockquote> <br /> <dd> <dl> <dt> <em> <font> <h1> <h2> <h3> <h4> <h5> <h6> <hr /> <i> <li> <nbsp> <ol> <p> <small> <strike> <strong> <table> <td> <th> <tr> <tt> <u> <ul>
  • Snippets of code should be wrapped in <code> tags not <pre> tags. In fact, <pre> tags should generally be avoided. If they must be used, extreme care should be taken to ensure that their contents do not have long lines (<70 chars), in order to prevent horizontal scrolling (and possible janitor intervention).
  • Want more info? How to link or How to display code and escape characters are good places to start.
