“Lethal idea…” I would ask you to describe how it might be so, just for entertainment, but instead let’s open the yawning hypocrisy.

This thread has 57 replies in it, so 58 total nodes. If one is not logged in, as per the proposal in question, only 31 of those nodes display due to what I already made a joke about—some notes below… So, this ridiculous, misplaced, ignorant concern of yours… Where is it for the 27 already hidden nodes here? Almost as many nodes are hidden as are shown in this thread. Now. Today. Not in some proposal. This has not been ”a lethal idea for a website like PerlMonks.” It’s risible that anyone would think it could be.

Title:
Use:  <p> text here (a paragraph) </p>
and:  <code> code here </code>
to format your post; it's "PerlMonks-approved HTML":

  • Are you posting in the right place? Check out Where do I post X? to know for sure.
  • Posts may use any of the Perl Monks Approved HTML tags. Currently these include the following:
    <code> <a> <b> <big> <blockquote> <br /> <dd> <dl> <dt> <em> <font> <h1> <h2> <h3> <h4> <h5> <h6> <hr /> <i> <li> <nbsp> <ol> <p> <small> <strike> <strong> <table> <td> <th> <tr> <tt> <u> <ul>
  • Snippets of code should be wrapped in <code> tags not <pre> tags. In fact, <pre> tags should generally be avoided. If they must be used, extreme care should be taken to ensure that their contents do not have long lines (<70 chars), in order to prevent horizontal scrolling (and possible janitor intervention).
  • Want more info? How to link or How to display code and escape characters are good places to start.
