( [id://3333]=superdoc: print w/replies, xml ) Need Help??
Dear Monks, i want to get text from multiple files at a regex start until the end of file. It works for the first file, what means it shows the text from my regex until eof, but it doesnt work for the following files. It shows the full text. I am beginner and cant find out why. I believe its about the "unless" part which thinks all is after the first match!? My someone please help me out? Thanks.
my @textfiles = (); @textfiles = glob("*.txt"); foreach my $textfile (@textfiles){ open ( my $inf_fh, '<', $textfile ) or die "Can't open $textfile $ +!\n"; while (<$inf_fh>) { unless (1.../^Something/) { print $_; } } close($inf_fh); }

Title:
Use:  <p> text here (a paragraph) </p>
and:  <code> code here </code>
to format your post; it's "PerlMonks-approved HTML":

  • Are you posting in the right place? Check out Where do I post X? to know for sure.
  • Posts may use any of the Perl Monks Approved HTML tags. Currently these include the following:
    <code> <a> <b> <big> <blockquote> <br /> <dd> <dl> <dt> <em> <font> <h1> <h2> <h3> <h4> <h5> <h6> <hr /> <i> <li> <nbsp> <ol> <p> <small> <strike> <strong>   <table> <td> <th> <tr> <tt> <u> <ul>
  • Snippets of code should be wrapped in <code> tags not <pre> tags. In fact, <pre> tags should generally be avoided. If they must be used, extreme care should be taken to ensure that their contents do not have long lines (<70 chars), in order to prevent horizontal scrolling (and possible janitor intervention).
