I object to the nature of this post. I'm not for personal attacks being presented on this forum. And I don't see how this isn't a personal attack (and it has a bitter "vengeance"-like aftertaste).

I also disagree with the phrase "courtroom antics". Randal is trying to preserve his name and his reputation. What he did was done with no malintent, as he has made clear in many ways. What he has done since then (specifically in the Perl world) has been amazing selfless work.

The burglar who breaks his leg in a house still had intent of stealing and doing whatever. The merlyn that gets spotted while running crack and waiting for it to finish so he can present the results to the necessary authorities only had intent of fixing a major hole in the security of the system.

Title:
Use:  <p> text here (a paragraph) </p>
and:  <code> code here </code>
to format your post; it's "PerlMonks-approved HTML":

  • Are you posting in the right place? Check out Where do I post X? to know for sure.
  • Posts may use any of the Perl Monks Approved HTML tags. Currently these include the following:
    <code> <a> <b> <big> <blockquote> <br /> <dd> <dl> <dt> <em> <font> <h1> <h2> <h3> <h4> <h5> <h6> <hr /> <i> <li> <nbsp> <ol> <p> <small> <strike> <strong> <table> <td> <th> <tr> <tt> <u> <ul>
  • Snippets of code should be wrapped in <code> tags not <pre> tags. In fact, <pre> tags should generally be avoided. If they must be used, extreme care should be taken to ensure that their contents do not have long lines (<70 chars), in order to prevent horizontal scrolling (and possible janitor intervention).
  • Want more info? How to link or or How to display code and escape characters are good places to start.
