If you are running gcc 2.95.x, make sure you are using /usr/ccs/bin/ld. If you're using gcc3.0.x, try using gnu ld (normally /usr/local/bin/ld). Adjust the order of your $PATH to ensure you're using the correct ld for your setup.

<pre> tags. In fact, <pre>
tags should generally be avoided. If they must
be used, extreme care should be
taken to ensure that their contents do not
have long lines (<70 chars), in order to prevent
horizontal scrolling (and possible janitor
intervention).
