One additional pitfall for most people using a relational database for the first time: there are no record numbers!
An RDBMS is based on set theory, and a particular row has no inherent position in its table (although some database systems fake this). Hence the very common question: how do I fetch rows 100-120, where the database independant answer is always: use an appropriate WHERE clause.
