( #3333=superdoc: print w/replies, xml ) Need Help??

Hey... I read the thread :). I honestly didn't think she intended her comments to be complaints or demands, but wrather suggestions. She did use the word "Furthermore", which set the tone to be arrogant, like you say. Still... I don't know, it just seemed like you came down kind of hard on her, thats all.

And I still think her first idea was "valid". She made the comment about the chatterbox note being one time, and you took it to mean that she thought it would dissapear instantly, like the other messages. My interpretation was more along the lines of it being one time meaning as soon as you cliked it and it was gone... it is gone. I think it would be cool to see the number of replies in the writeups list. It would give another measurement to the thread beyond Reputation. Know what I mean?

Anyway... sorry for yelling at (about) you. I was mainly shocked that she left... it was the first negative encounter I've ever witnessed here. And maybe this just isn't the kind of environment that Abigail was interested in.

Oh... and I never vote down a well-formed, intelligent argument :)

to format your post; it's "PerlMonks-approved HTML":

  • Are you posting in the right place? Check out Where do I post X? to know for sure.
  • Posts may use any of the Perl Monks Approved HTML tags. Currently these include the following:
    <code> <a> <b> <big> <blockquote> <br /> <dd> <dl> <dt> <em> <font> <h1> <h2> <h3> <h4> <h5> <h6> <hr /> <i> <li> <nbsp> <ol> <p> <small> <strike> <strong> <table> <td> <th> <tr> <tt> <u> <ul>
  • Snippets of code should be wrapped in <code> tags not <pre> tags. In fact, <pre> tags should generally be avoided. If they must be used, extreme care should be taken to ensure that their contents do not have long lines (<70 chars), in order to prevent horizontal scrolling (and possible janitor intervention).
