Yes, I understand his concern. I believe that censorship is the wrong way to address the concern, but I understand the underlying motivation. It is similar to being worried about kids who are old enough to drive. Refusing to let them use the car isn't the way to go, but some anxiety over whether they'll get into an accident is to be expected. Parents worry about their kids. It's part of being a parent - you've managed to survive your childhood, but you remember some close calls, and you worry about whether your kids well get through unscathed. Sometimes they try to protect the kids in ineffective or inapproriate ways, but that in itself doesn't make the parents evil or unworthy of respect. Unwise, yes - but that just makes them human. Posts may use any of the Perl Monks Approved HTML tags. Currently these include the following:
<code> <a> <b> <big>
<blockquote> <br /> <dd>
<dl> <dt> <em> <font>
<h1> <h2> <h3> <h4>
<h5> <h6> <hr /> <i>
<li> <nbsp> <ol> <p>
<small> <strike> <strong>
  <table>
<td> <th> <tr> <tt>
<u> <ul>

Snippets of code should be wrapped in
<code> tags not
<pre> tags. In fact, <pre>
tags should generally be avoided. If they must
be used, extreme care should be
taken to ensure that their contents do not
have long lines (<70 chars), in order to prevent
horizontal scrolling (and possible janitor
intervention).
