The application i am working on needs to upgrade OS from AIX 5.2 to AIX 5.3. We are major users of Perl 5.8.0 on AIX. As part of the AIX upgrade we are being required to upgrade to Perl 5.8.2. The last time this happened there were apparently major problems with Perl scripts (I was not working on this application at that time, I am trying to find out what version of Perl they want to and from).
Basically what I need to know is what major differences if any exist between the 5.8.0 and 5.8.2 releases, from a syntax/coding perspective and from a code execution perspective. I have been looking around the net and I can't seem to find anything that makes this comparison. Any help you can provide would be appreciated.

Posts may use any of the Perl Monks Approved HTML tags. Currently these include the following:
<code> <a> <b> <big>
<blockquote> <br /> <dd>
<dl> <dt> <em> <font>
<h1> <h2> <h3> <h4>
<h5> <h6> <hr /> <i>
<li> <nbsp> <ol> <p>
<small> <strike> <strong>
  <table>
<td> <th> <tr> <tt>
<u> <ul>

Snippets of code should be wrapped in
<code> tags not
<pre> tags. In fact, <pre>
tags should generally be avoided. If they must
be used, extreme care should be
taken to ensure that their contents do not
have long lines (<70 chars), in order to prevent
horizontal scrolling (and possible janitor
intervention).
