hi monks,
I have a bit of a silly question:
I have the the "to" from an email...
If I get this with my code the value variates.
this are some options:
name<email>, like "Michiel van der Maas<michiel_masterm@hotmail.com>" (that is my email)
<email>, like <michiel_masterm@hotmail.com>"
and there are more... but I only want the email without the tags, so I can equalize it with email adresses in a database. first I thought, I can get this with some substr's. but everytime the adress has another length, so what is the best option to get it? because I can't see it this moment...

Are you posting in the right place? Check out Where do I post X? to know for sure.

Posts may use any of the Perl Monks Approved HTML tags. Currently these include the following:
<code> <a> <b> <big>
<blockquote> <br /> <dd>
<dl> <dt> <em> <font>
<h1> <h2> <h3> <h4>
<h5> <h6> <hr /> <i>
<li> <nbsp> <ol> <p>
<small> <strike> <strong>
  <table>
<td> <th> <tr> <tt>
<u> <ul>
-
Snippets of code should be wrapped in
<code> tags not
<pre> tags. In fact, <pre>
tags should generally be avoided. If they must
be used, extreme care should be
taken to ensure that their contents do not
have long lines (<70 chars), in order to prevent
horizontal scrolling (and possible janitor
intervention).
