Now you're just being silly. The usual software development methodologies with time based schedules simply don't work for open-source, volunteer based, non-paid work. Period. Also most of them produce crap software.

The only thing is if your experiment fails it may mark the death of Perl.

Why oh why do you keep repeating such bullshit? Perl 5 is still being developed, even faster than in the previous few years (at least so it seems to me), CPAN upload rates are at an all-time high - and you think that all would collaps if Larry declared Perl 6 a failure? Where is your common sense? Wake up, please.

If you really care about Perl, stop spreading FUD, and instead help with actual development.

Perl 6 - links to (nearly) everything that is Perl 6.

Use:  <p> text here (a paragraph) </p>
and:  <code> code here </code>
to format your post; it's "PerlMonks-approved HTML":

  • Are you posting in the right place? Check out Where do I post X? to know for sure.
  • Posts may use any of the Perl Monks Approved HTML tags. Currently these include the following:
    <code> <a> <b> <big> <blockquote> <br /> <dd> <dl> <dt> <em> <font> <h1> <h2> <h3> <h4> <h5> <h6> <hr /> <i> <li> <nbsp> <ol> <p> <small> <strike> <strong> <table> <td> <th> <tr> <tt> <u> <ul>
  • Snippets of code should be wrapped in <code> tags not <pre> tags. In fact, <pre> tags should generally be avoided. If they must be used, extreme care should be taken to ensure that their contents do not have long lines (<70 chars), in order to prevent horizontal scrolling (and possible janitor intervention).
  • Want more info? How to link or How to display code and escape characters are good places to start.
