I know, this is short notice. Wikipedia is staging a SOPA blackout, beginning in a few hours.

There are quite a lot of others sites also doing something to protest.

Should we, as PerlMonks, join in the effort?

It does not have to be a "total blackout". Maybe just add a big banner and/or "blacking out" a few side nodelets (like the XP and Chatterbox) may get some attention.

What do you think?

Update: My spare time Perl project, an online wikileaks cables database has joined the effort. Not that any of my 40 or so user would notice, but i guess it's the thought that counts...

Snippets of code should be wrapped in <code> tags not <pre> tags. In fact, <pre> tags should generally be avoided. If they must be used, extreme care should be taken to ensure that their contents do not have long lines (<70 chars), in order to prevent horizontal scrolling (and possible janitor intervention).
