A coworker of mine who's been picking Perl up for the past year just mentioned that. She comes from a VB background and said "I just grokked hashes about a month ago, and now everything I write has hashes in it." I remember doing the same thing, until I had enough tools to actually pick the right one at hand.
If all you know how to use is a hammer, everything you're required to do has to be a nail. ------
