(So, yes. This writeup is old. I'll update some, uh, other time.) Hmm. I'm a Friar now, I think. Interesting. I reached the friar level, but someone suggested downvoting a few of my nodes so I can experience becoming a friar again. So, until I can get deeper into the level, hilarity ensues! :)

Anyway, I've been programming for quite a few years when a friend diverted my attention to PerlMonks, and since I joined I am happy to be part of this blessed community. Next to CPAN and all the manpages and How-To's out there, PM is a damned-good resource for examples, tutorials, and advice. Glad to be a part of it.

Given a chance, I'd shake Larry Wall's hand.

Ok, so currently I'm toying around with Reinventing the Wheel. Uh-huh, that means Yet Another Perl Content Management System. I like the thrill and the drudgery of doing so. Building it piece by piece, trying to use as many CPAN modules as possible, or at least gleaning what I need from them. Everything, including documents, templates, users, and some application code, is served from the database. Hopefully it won't choke-up my shared server, eh?

Ok. Here's to the future.
