Ahh yes this works great for spacing and indention but html is still rendered inside the pre tag.

Try this

for (@source) {
  s/&/&/g;
  s/</&lt;/g;
  print;
}

or use the HTML escape routine in CGI.

You're already using CGI so why not just import escapeHTML and use it on the contents of the script?
