reyjrar, I know exactly what you mean. I started coming here in June of this year and my knowledge of Perl was pitiful, to be honest. While I still feel like "Saint Ovid, the Pretender", I have to admit that my Perl skill has increased tremendously as a direct result of this site. When I have the time and I see a question that I can almost answer, I grab the Cookbook, Programming Perl, or just write out some test scripts to figure out what's going on. Then I post the results and discover that I've learned something new.

Now, I have a new job doing CGI/Perl exclusively, I'm writing an online Web Programming with Perl course, my posture has improved and I have a girlfriend... all thanks to Perlmonks! ;)

Wow if it has done all that for you I think I need to start skipping more classes and hanging out here more.

Seriously though, you guys make me proud. It's each and every one of you who make the site what it is. It's also fun to see people rise not only through the user levels but from question asker to question answerer in a matter of months. I just wish I had more time to read everything here and glean all of your collective knowledge for myself.
