I don't think there's an option for that -- it is usually controlled by the authour of the node, by using READMORE tags.

    Hmmmm, I wonder if there is any other interest in this. Having the ability to set a hard readmore limit would make navigation much easier for me at times. Is there some rationality for not having such a feature? Jon

      Lack of tuits. Find a pmdevil that will champion this issue and then pester them to get it done. And once they are done help them pester us to apply said patches.

      Anything pretty much is possible if you can get a pmdevil and a god to champion it.
