Creating a COM/OLE server

crenz has asked for the wisdom of the Perl Monks concerning the following question:

I've perused the documentation of Win32::OLE, but it mentions nothing about creating your own COM/OLE servers. How can I prove to my colleague that this can indeed be done using Perl? :)

You canÂ´t. At least not with pure Perl. But there is the PerlDevKit from ActiveState, that contains PerlCtrl, a tool to write ActiveX-Dlls. holli, /regexed monk/	[reply] [d/l]

Using Windows Script Components (WSC) you can put PerlScript inside *.wsc files, register them into the local COM registry, and then load up your Perl-COM components from anything else that can use COM.
