Windows isn't case-sensitive, and Linux is. Perhaps your DB file isn't actually all lower-case?

Update:perldoc -f dbmopen seems to indicate that the file will be created if it's not found. "If the database does not exist, it is created..." So, in that case, I don't understand your error at all.

    I know. That's what I read too.

    It's the same case. I have even declared the full pathname too.
