That won't work, since this year, the conference is happening across the river at the convention center, and there is no "convention hotel".

OK, I'll be in early on Sunday afternoon (Gods of the Road willing), and I can start scouting the area. There has to be someplace with liquid dispensation facilities on that side of the river. ---- I Go Back to Sleep, Now. OGB	[reply]

No conference hotel? Bummer. Do you have any recommendations about hotels close to the convention center?	[reply]

Well, I've never stayed in any of the hotels nearby, since I happen to live in this town... {grin} Portland.citysearch.com (using our favorite mod_perl site) suggests (in order of distance): Inn at the Convention Center (if I remember, this is hotel from the mid 60s... kinda dumpy) Shilo Inn (rooms have free high-speed net access, and this is a hometown chain... I'd recommend this if the price is fair) Red Lion Inn La Quinta (fairly modern) Marriott Courtyard (standard Marriott style) Radisson Just use your favorite means to search near "777 NE M L King Blvd, Portland, OR". -- Randal L. Hmmm, the ora.com does say that the Doubletree is the "Event Headquarters Hotel." Not sure how the conference rate there compares to the others nearby.	[reply]
