in reply to Easy CGI Authentication?

Instead of looking for an alternative for CGI::Application::Plugin::Authentication, how about devoting some effort to helping us work out whatever bugs there might be so that we can move closer to a stable release? While I can't speak for Cees, I'm pretty sure he'd appreciate more feedback and certainly more testers!

There is a CAP::Authorization package coming as well which is a natural extension to CAP::Authentication. You won't find a better authen/authz solution for CGI::Application.

Look for us in #cgiapp on, or check out the wiki.

Hope to see you around,

Normally, I'd agree. The CGI::Application stuff seems neat and it would be fun to go into it.

But I am trying to get up my first module to CPAN -- and it is probably larger than the total line count for the CGI::Application.*!

Since I haven't done much web programming in Perl for a few years and this is the largest Perl app I've written by a factor of at least 3-4, I can't realistically add to my todo-list of fear for not getting my module done. I have done 90+% of the programming and need to do the last 90% (more tests, documentation, examples).

But I will look for Perl jobs later in the year, so please don't give up hope on me for CGI::App! :-)
